Award winning composer and multi instrumentalist, Jon Wygens has composed scores for some of the most successful television productions of recent years. Drama credits include three series of ITV’s hugely popular family drama The Durrells , co-composed with Ruth Barrett ; additional music for ITV’s Emmy nominated historical drama Victoria and additional music for the Ivor Novello award nominated stylish noir thriller The Collection for Amazon Studios.

Feature films include the political thriller Flying Blind staring Helen McCory, the gothic Romanian vampire movie Miss Christina, for which he won a GOPO Award for best score, and the Brazilian film Animal Politico, perhaps unique in being an existential comedy starring an actual cow.

Short films include The Procession, staring Lily Tomlin and Lucy Punch and Infidel, winner of best UK short at London’s Raindance festival.

Jon has scored countless documentaries including The Murder Trial which won a BAFTA for best documentary and factual shows including the BBC’s internationally popular Great British Railway Journeys and related series Great Continental Railway Journeys, Great American Railroad Journeys and Great Indian Railway Journeys.

Jon studied at the National Film & Television School graduating with a Masters degree in composing for Film and Television and lives in London. His studio is in the Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch.
